Nepal mandates state-led power trading
The Nepal Electricity Authority has established the Nepal Power Trading Company Ltd to oversee cross-border electricity trade. Private firms remain excluded from the regulatory framework, despite growing interest in regional energy exports to Bangladesh and India. This move consolidates state control over the country's energy export pipeline.
