Oil spill covers 400 square km
Oman's Environment Authority confirmed that an oil spill from a grounded tanker has spread across 400 square kilometers of the Arabian Sea. Emergency containment operations are currently underway to mitigate ecological damage to the coastline. Authorities are working to stabilize the vessel to prevent further discharge of crude oil into the waters.
