West African states strengthen livestock monitoring
ECOWAS and regional health authorities have launched an initiative to improve livestock traceability to curb disease spread and improve cross-border trade standards. The project, utilizing the National Livestock Information Management System, involves coordinating veterinary protocols across multiple member nations. This regional move is aimed at mitigating risks associated with animal health and streamlining regional supply chains.
