Hanwha Ocean loses Canadian submarine bid

South Korean firm Hanwha Ocean saw its share price drop 23% following the announcement that it lost a major contract to build Canada's new submarine fleet. ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems of Germany was selected instead for the project. President Lee Jae-myung stated that the bid process successfully demonstrated South Korean technical potential despite the setback.
