South Sudan commission releases child soldiers
The South Sudan Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) Commission secured the release of 49 children previously associated with armed groups. The effort is part of a comprehensive action plan to remove minors from conflict zones and reintegrate them into civil society. Officials confirmed the children were released in the Western Equatoria region.
