Türkiye, US signal progress on sanctions
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that President Erdogan and Donald Trump share a commitment to lifting CAATSA sanctions imposed on Türkiye. These sanctions were originally enacted due to Türkiye’s acquisition of Russian defense systems. The diplomatic move follows ongoing talks between the two administrations regarding regional security cooperation.
