Former Pentagon official Elbridge Colby has reiterated calls for U.S. allies to increase their defense budgets and military contributions to alleviate pressure on Washington. Speaking in Manila, Colby emphasized that current U.S. military capacity is insufficient to address simultaneous threats in the Middle East, the Western Hemisphere, and the Indo-Pacific. He argued that regional partners must take a more proactive role in their own security.
